Bernard BUFFET, Paris de mon coeur poems by Tetsuro FURUKAKI, 2 flowers, 1961, original lithography
Tetsuro Furukaki (1900-1987), a Francophile Japanese poet, was Japanese ambassador to France. At home, he was a senator, editor-in-chief of Japan's largest daily newspaper, Asahi Shinbun, and managing director of Japanese broadcaster NHK. He was also president of the Cannes Film Festival jury in 1962 and a member of the jury for the same festival in 1966. With Paris de mon coeur, he offers us a delicate collection of poems dedicated to his wife and illustrated by Bernard Buffet, an artist particularly appreciated in Japan.
